“Warning”

Thank the Lord 2009 is done! The year 2010 is here, and I am looking for a great year. I would like to talk about some things that have caused us to have problems in the year of 2009. I am guessing that the Bellville Free Will Baptist is not the only church that is having this problem. We lost more people over miscommunication than any thing else, it has been an on going problem for me as a Pastor. I read in the book of James 1:26, they need to Bridle their tongue or maybe it’s their hands, “lol”, that is text talk: Laugh out Loud. These things that I am talking about are Texting and Facebook.  I was thinking, if God had a computer and his disciples were on facebook would he have to address it in the Bible? I will tell you I don’t understand why Christians have to be part of this devils tool.

I was talking to a couple from the church that had some real problems, the longer that I sat in their house the more that I understood the problem; they all had cell phones even the children. While I was trying to share with them the word of God, they were getting text messages everyone of them.  How does God deal with this? I knew this is a problem in our churches.

Our people don’t even know how to find a certain book in the Bible, but they can text and get on face book!  What is going on in the churches today?  God help us! I am stirred about Gods people getting caught in this spider web!  Preachers and laymen are guilty about sending naked picture on their cell phones. Lord help our people! As I am typing this I am crying, because I know this hurts God. I am going to: “cry aloud and spare not.” Isaiah 58:1

I worry about people that get addicted to this and can’t get away from it. I was talking to a preacher a couple of weeks back and he told me that if he wanted to find out anything about my church all he had to do was get on Facebook.  Boy did that ever tick me off! LOL

God help our people to get back to the reading the Bible! Instead of reading Facebook! Amen!  What would I like to see in 2010?  Is for people to turn their hearts on and open the Bible and see what God has to say!
